This short video shows you three simple steps you can take to get better looking Camtasia movies on YouTube.

As you probably know, I try to upload at least one video a week to YouTube. Doing so increases my search engine ranking for several keywords, and also attracts new visitors to this site. (Watch my video at //www.bmyers.com/members/1237.cfm for more details).

Getting better results

If you have ever uploaded a video to YouTube, you know that YouTube will resize the video to 320X240 and also convert the video to flash format.

For videos shot with a camcorder, or recorded from TV, this reformatting by YouTube has little effect on the quality of the video when it is played.

However, when it comes to screencast videos of high resolution computer screens, the reformatting and resizing by YouTube significantly reduces the resolution of the video, making it difficult see the fine details.

Since most of the videos I upload to YouTube are screencast movies made with Camtasia Studio, I have been testing different screen resolutions and video formats to see which give the best results on YouTube.

After much testing I have compiled 3 simple tips to getting better results at YouTube with your screen cast videos.

While the results are not nearly as good as the full size, full resolution screencasts I place on this site, these tips will increase the viewability of your screencasts if you upload them to YouTube.
