Not just a flea market . . .
Bill Myers
I can't believe we spent this much money for an item we found on eBay. But we did, and it worked out well - so far. My wife and I have been searching for a specific make and model of car to tow behind our motorhome, and haven't had much luck with local auto sellers and dealers. The car we wanted (4wd Toyota RAV4 5 speed) is pretty rare in Florida. Most Rav4s sold here are automatic, 2 wheel drive. But to tow behind our motorhome, we needed a 5 speed, and wanted a 4wd. We finally found the exact Rav4 we wanted on eBay online auctions, with low milage and priced at about $1500 less than we've found elsewhere. After checking out the seller and obtaining a carfax on the vehicle, we bought the car. This is the fifth car we'd bought using eBay . . . and so far all the transactions have gone smoothly. Buying (and selling) cars on eBay is not that unusual. In fact, eBay handled $4.3 billion sales in their automotive categories last year . . . and is the largest seller of used cars in the world. So next time you have a car (or boat, or motorhome, or just about anything else) for sale, don't forget eBay. It is a quick way to reach a lot of buyers at a very low cost.
