How to sell a million ebooks in just 5 months
Bill Myers - July 8, 2011
Printer-Friendly Format

Here's the story of how a former insurance salesman figured out how to sell over one million books on Amazon in less than five months. He creates the blue-print for others to do the same

John Locke.

The name may be familiar if you kept up with the hit TV show 'Lost'.

But there's another John Locke. A former insurance salesman turned author.

Last year, he wrote three short action-adventure novels, uploaded them to Amazon Kindle publishing platform, and then waited for the orders to flood in.

But the orders didn't happen. In fact, he only sold nineteen copies of his books. Earning him less than six dollars.

Instead of giving up, Locke was determined to discover a way to make his books best sellers.

Through trial and error, he developed a zero cost marketing strategy which significantly increased his book sales.

In fact, in just the first five months after applying his new marketing plan, his books topped the Amazon Kindle best sellers list with over one million copies sold!

Since then, Locke's books have reached the New York Times best sellers list and continue to sell at the rate of one every six seconds on Amazon.

John will tell you he's not the world's best writer. In fact, he says most people can probably write better than he can.

But the one thing he's very good at is figuring out what it takes to sell things. Whether it be insurance, businesses or books on Amazon, he's good at developing a marketing strategy that works.

The reason I'm telling you this is I just finished reading his latest book, 'How I Sold 1 Million eBooks in 5 Months', and in my opinion, it is the best book I've ever read about marketing.

While the focus of the book is creating best sellers at Amazon, his strategy and tips would work for almost any product, including the kinds of things most of us create and sell.

If your goal is to sell and you want to use the internet to do it, you'll want to read Locke's book.

'How I Sold 1 Million eBooks in 5 Months' is available on Kindle for $4.95, or in paper-back for $9.99. Find it at Amazon at
