Finding Public Domain Books
Here's a quick way to find public domain books on just about any subject. The secret is knowing what to look for and which search terms to use Recently I posted an article in the members area of bmyers.com showing how one eBayer manages to earn almost $10,000 a month selling CDs filled with public domain books. After posting that article, I was asked how the seller was able to find the books he has on his CDs. Here's the secret: He uses two simple Google search modifiers to quickly locate downloadable public domain books and reports on almost any subject. The first Google search modifier is: filetype:pdf - which tells Google to only display pdf files And the second modifier is: site:gov - which tells Google to only return results from government sites (which is where you'll find a lot of public domain books). So, if searching for downloadable books on beekeeping, the Google search would be: beekeeping filetype:pdf site:gov You'd probably also want to search for: beekeeping filetype:pdf site:edu which would show pdf files from educational institutions - another source for public domain books and reports. Knowing this simple secret can quickly help you find books and reports on just about any subject.
