Screencast: 3 Minute guide to recording close-up 'how-to-use' videos using minimal equipment

Printer-Friendly Format

This short video shows you the secret to quickly and easily recording close-up 'how-to-use' videos, math problems, art videos, and other topics where you need to show your hands in motion. Simple to do, once you see the secret

Let's say you want to create a YouTube video showing how to use a feature in your favorite cell phone. Or digital camera. Or even the iPad.

Or perhaps you are an artist and want to show a new drawing technique.

Or maybe you just want to show people how to solve math problems, and you want to use video to do it.

If you have a camcorder, even a digital photo camera that shoots video, and a tripod, you can do all the above (and more) using the technique shown below.

You can use this technique to shoot YouTube videos, videos for your web pages, even full DVDs.

It's easy to set up, and easy to shoot.

To see the secrets, click the play icon below.

Note: In the video I mention that you can use Pan & Crop to vertically flip video so that things don't look upside down.

When you do this, choose 'pan & crop', then right click and choose 'flip', then 'horizontal'. Then then right click and choose 'flip', then 'vertical'.

This gives the best results.
