A global excuse not to work
Bill Myers - July 23, 2009

According to the World Health Organization, close to 50% of us will be infected with the swine flu in the coming months.

The good news (so far), is the death rate from the swine flu is quite low - less than 1 in a 100,000 cases.

The bad news - when you get swine flu, you won't be up to doing much other than resting in bed for up to two weeks.

If the chances of getting the swine flu are near 50%, it means a lot of people (about half the world's population) are going to be sick and unable to work in the coming months.

And that group will likely include you, your customers, associates, employees, family and friends.

With that in mind, now is a good time to strategize and prepare for 'flu downtime' in your business and personal life.

But the truth is, you probably won't concern yourself with the swine flu - until you get it.

And even then, you may not know you have it - you'll just think you're having an off day - that lasts a week or more, and that could be fatal.
