Carry your camera with you this weekend
Bill Myers - June 19
Here's a good reason to carry you digital pocket camera with you this week and use it every day. One of my favorite possessions is a old black & white photo my
father took of my mother while they were courting. The photo was taken almost 60 years ago in a wooden fishing boat,
and my mother (just barely out of her teens), was dressed in cut-off jeans, a fishing shirt, a straw hat, was holding a fishing pole, and had a big smile on her face. That's the only photo I've seen of my mother at that age. The reason I bring this up, is even though most of us have
cameras, we sometimes forget to take photos of our normal lives.
The kinds of photos that your children and relatives will cherish
50 years in the future. With that in mind, here's my suggestion of something to do this
weekend: Make it a point to carry your pocket digital camera with you and
take photos of people important in your life. Your spouse, your children, your parents, and your friends. And don't just take posed photos . . . get photos of these people
doing what they love and doing things you'll remember them by. Then dump the photos to your computer and use free PhotoStory software to create a short video of your life and friends. It may become something you or your family cherishes. To find details on how to use PhotoStory to create short videos from photos, see http://www.bmyers.com/public/1321.cfm
