Winning the Browser Wars
Bill Myers - December 12, 2008

If you are tired (or afraid) of using Windows Internet Explorer as your web browser, and have found the alternate browser, FireFox, not to your liking, you might want to consider the Chrome browser from Google.

Especially now.

That's because this week, Google moved Chrome from beta to a full release version. That means it is no longer a 'test' product; it is now fully supported browser.

Google says it designed the Chrome browser with an emphasis on security and speed, and in my testing, I have to agree that they definitely achieved the speed part.

Web pages and videos viewed with Chrome seem to load much faster throughout the web.

And if you use the 'incognito' mode, you can browse the web anonymously, leaving no tracks as you explore different sites.

While Chrome might not be the perfect browser, it is getting closer to that objective every day.

Google Chrome is free, and you can download it or get the latest update at http://www.google.com/chrome
