Google's Facial Recognition Search Tool
Bill Myers - September 30, 2008
Google has a number of great features, and many more that are hidden away, not known to all. One of these hidden features is facial recognition search. Using the facial recognition feature, you can enter someone's name, and google will return all the facial photos it can find of that person. For example, you could do a facial recognition search using your own name, and might find photos of yourself you didn't even know existed. That's what I found when I did the facial search on google for my own name. To use the facial search, go to http://images.google.com , and select 'advanced search'. On the advanced search page, select 'faces' in the content type. Then enter the name of the person you are looking for and click the 'google search' box. Google will show you all the facial photos it can find of that person. Try it with your own or a relative's name. You might be surprised with what you find.
