Inside information
Bill Myers - September 4, 2008

Are you making it too easy for your competitors to discover your niche marketing secrets?

You might be doing this and not even realize it.

For example, if you use the exact same phrase on all your web sites, a competitor could find a list of your sites with a single Google search for that phrase.

So what kind of phrase might be repeated on all your sites making them easy to find?

How about your copyright statement?

If all your sites have the same 'copyrighted by Joe's Web Empire', a competitor could search Google for that phrase and find all your sites quickly.

To prevent this, vary the text in your copyright statement (or other repeated phrases) from web site to web site so all the sites can't be found with a single Google Search.

It is a simple thing, but could make a difference in the long run.
