Leaving footprints - on YouTube
Bill Myers - July 5, 2008

I've recently reached a milestone of sorts with YouTube.

See, I've just uploaded my 100th video to YouTube, and those videos have received over a half a million views.

While half a million views may not seem like much (especially since some videos on YouTube get millions of views), those half of million people who viewed my videos are all in the target market I want to reach via my web site and the DVDs I sell.

So finding those half a million new potential customers is a pretty good thing. In fact, it is better than good. It is a great thing.

Creating and uploading those videos cost me nothing but time, usually less than 15 minutes per video (when I use Camtasia).

And in return for spending 15 minutes a week for two years, half a million new potential customers know about me, my products, and know how to find my web site.

To me, that represents a good return on investment. 15 minutes a week, zero out of pocket expenses, to reach half a million potential new customers.

If you haven't yet begun using YouTube as a means of helping potential new customers find your site and your products, now is a good time to start.

Video on the web is not going away, and in fact, will likely supplant mainstream TV viewership in the next two to four years.

To see the kind of videos I put on YouTube, and to see how I use them to promote my products and web site, I invite you to check them out at http://youtube.com/profile_videos?user=guerillabill&p=r
