Don't Reinvent the Wheel

Use the success of others as your road map

When you start any difficult task, it is always a good idea to start with a 'model of success.

For example, let's say you want to create a software training DVD you can sell on Amazon.

So how do you do it?

One of the best places to start would be to go to Amazon.com and purchase a few software training DVDs already being sold there.

Then watch those DVDs to see how they were put together.

As you view those DVDs, note how the presenter is dressed, how he (or she) was framed in the shot, and what the video background looks like. And then as the DVD progresses, note what topics were covered, how background music is used, and how titles are shown to enhance the training.

Then when you start your own video, use the best of those DVDs as a model or template for your own DVD production.

By starting with a 'model of success', something you can refer to when you have creative questions, you make it a lot easier get your own production done.

This is the way most of us create our successful products - by starting with a model of success.

Feel free to use any of my DVDs as your model. Find them at http://www.bmyers.com/products/index.cfm
