Daylight Happiness
I've been shooting a number of videos recently, and part of the process involves lighting up the studio. Because using standard video lights generates so much heat, I've been using daylight fluorescent bulbs (6500k) - the kind that screw into standard light fixtures. If you position these daylight fluorescent lights correctly, the can deliver a very professional look on video. And there's an another benefit. I've discovered that working under the daylight bulbs makes me happier. Just like a sunny day. And it's not just me. Other people who have walked into my office tell me the same thing. They say, "it sure feels bright and cheery in here!'. And for me, anything that makes you feel better without having to have a prescription is a good thing. That's why I've replaced all the light bulbs in my office with the daylight (6500k) fluorescent bulbs. They produce great light, run cool, and save energy to boot. By the way, if you want to see one of the DVD projects I've just completed (using the fluorescent lights), check it out at http://www.bmyers.com/products/item20.cfm
