The caller wanted to know where they could find a copy of a book I had mentioned in an article several years past.

I didn't think the book was still in print, but was pretty sure it had been converted into .pdf format, and was available from different download sites on the web.

Unfortunately, I didn't know the web addresses of any of the sites where the book could be downloaded.

But I knew how to find the book - using the following search string on google.

sales letters filetype:pdf

That search string returned thousands of freely downloadable pdf books and documents about creating and using sales letters - including some of those 'must have' books that are difficult to find.

You can use this same search to find downloadable books and reports on just about any subject. Just change the words before 'filetype:pdf' to those you are searching for.

For example, to find freely downloadable books and reports about search engine marketing, you would search google for: search engine optimization filetype:pdf

You'll be amazed at what you can find doing this kind of search.
