A tidal wave of new opportunities
Bill Myers
This week, Microsoft released its Windows Vista operating system. And while I won't be one of the first to upgrade to Vista, over the next two years a large percentage of Windows users will be moving to Vista. And as that happens, almost every software product on the market will be updated to take advantage of the power and speed that Vista offers. A lot of people won't like the idea that their favorite software package is being updated, and they won't like it that they will have to learn to use the software again. But, that is the reality of the computer age. We all have to continually re-learn to use newly updated computer systems. For those of us in the product development business, this 'need to learn the new systems' is actually the silver lining to the cloud of massive change. See, we product developers know that with the right tools, we can create software training CDs in a matter of hours. And we can have those CDs on the market when customers start looking for them. So as you 'feel the pain' with all the software upgrades, be thankful for the new opportunities those software upgrades create.
