Buying the house next door
Bill Myers
Printer-Friendly Format

At our recent DVD workshop, John Cooksey told us how his wife got tired of him working from home.

It wasn't that she didn't like him being home all day, it was just that she got tired of his ever growing collection of video gear taking over the house.

John liked being at home around his wife and children while he worked, but could appreciate his wife's concern about all the equipment underfoot.

After evaluating his options, John decided that the smartest thing for him to do was to buy the house next door, and move his studio there.

And that's exactly what he did - bought the house next door - and moved his video production equipment there.

By buying the house next door, John has made his wife happy, has a much larger space to work from, and also eliminated the potential problem of having bad neighbors (because he is now his own neighbor).

Not everyone will be in the position to do what John did, but it is something to consider as you look for your next home or home office.
